I actually disagree with starting N1. In the past, I've actually been able to use D1 to get a feel for people and begin making assumptions about allignments and roles, and I was even right a few times. And others have as well. I think removing D1 would actually be more harmful because everyone would go in absolutely blind, whereas D1 can give some kind of basis.

I also think we should generally stick to a D1 start and keep the option of a D1 lynch in our games. Starting on an acting phase not only drops everyone in 100% blind, but gives vanillas and later game roles (medium can't talk to dead if there's no dead, mayor ain't revealing that soon, nonconverting vigs won't shoot, etc.) absolutely nothing to think about or work with. I personally wouldn't mind skipping to N1 because I just don't get anything out of D1 as it is, but I've seen now that there are people who play here that do use D1 as the starting grounds for piecing things together. Starting on N1 limits the potential of players who have that certain playstyle, and while you could argue the same of a D1 start and my type of playstyle, neither is really more or less beneficial than the other.
If a game involves some sort of universal night activity/event for all players to be able to opt into (i.e. dating), then a N1 start could be less jarring (?), as you don't kick the game off with "welcome to the game, you can't play it yet though, only these guys can", as it gives late game power roles and vanillas something to do, especially if we were to give town less actors and more vanillas in future games.

I think we should continue to have a D1 start with no voting. Like Onse said, Iβm not the kind of player who gets anything from it, but there are those like Mom who do. Plus I like the fact that everybody gets a day to introduce themselves and talk about composition and maybe even make a few puns before someone dies. I donβt feel too strongly one way or the other on this issue though.
